R Spiritus Sorsano copy £780
Late 19th cent. German copy of Spiritus Sorsano 1717, made in the heyday of the late 19th century in the Lower Saxony region of Germany, this violin was made to meet the increasing demand for good quality student grade copies of the masters of Italy. Although made from quite plain wood with a one piece back, and purfling etched around the edges, this violin has been fully restored with ebony fittings and strung with D'darrio Pro-Arte strings, and due to the realitively flat arching, it has a full and rich quality to the sound with carrying power.
