Ben "Fluff" Johnson, Country and Bluegrass fiddler in the Devils Damned String band.
Vio-5 Electro acoustic - with quirky peghead (..so he could clip his tuner on!)

Well, having had this beauty in my hands for a year now, I really have to take stock and see if it was all worth it.
The quick answer is "Definitely". There is nothing I don't like about this instrument. I call her Bea.
So, with a very old Italian style body, five strings, and an ultra modern shape headstock (that Glyn very much didn't want to do. "Are you SURE you don't want a scroll" was a sentence I heard more than once). It's resonance, response, the quality of tone, even spread of volume, it's look, there is nothing to not fall in love with.
I'm not saying Glyn is perfect. His choice of strings wasn't for me. But fitted with my beloved Dominants, this hybrid really sings.
If you're looking for a new instrument, stop right here and go and try these out. You won't be sorry. And you'll have something that people really stop and talk about. Although I still can't quite let another player try her out yet. She has literally had blood, sweat and tears gone into her since I got her. But I know I have my forever violin. I'll never have another instrument I would prefer to play.
